More Than Trucks: Why UD Trucks PE Backed the Ocean Warriors
We spend our days moving things along the coast. In July, we got to help move something even more important: a new generation of confident, capable lifesavers. Living in Gqeberha means living next to the ocean. We love it, we work beside it, and we know how quickly it can turn. That's why, in July, UD Trucks PE was proud to sponsor a lifesaving event hosted by Ocean Warriors in Cape St Francis, Eastern Cape.

Who are the Ocean Warriors?
Ocean Warriors give young people the opportunity to learn real ocean safety and lifesaving skills. Along the way, they build something just as valuable: confidence, resilience and a healthy respect for the water. At this event, 35 young participants competed. The energy was brilliant — wet, sandy, loud and full of laughter. Exactly what a day at the beach should be, with serious skills being learned at the same time.

Why we got involved
Let's be honest: we're a trucking company. Our business is engines, axles and deliveries. But being on the coast means we're part of this community, and we don't want to just do business here. We want to give back to it. Water safety matters. Every year, lives are lost to drowning, something that makes water safety education and lifesaving skills so important. Lifesavers are the people who stand between a bad day and a tragedy. They give their time, train hard and show up when it counts. They deserve our thanks and our support. When young people step into that role, they grow into leaders who look out for others. That's an investment worth making.

Proud to support the next generation
A big thank you to the Ocean Warriors team, the coaches and volunteers, and every young person who showed up ready to learn. You're doing incredible work. At UD Trucks PE, we'll keep doing what we do best on the road. But we'll also keep backing the people who keep our beaches and our communities safe.
